You will be a key member of our high-performing Product Experience team and you will build and lead a team of talented designers to craft our future best-in-class user experiences. You are a creative leader across all phases of the product design process from project definition, to leveraging user research, to informing strategy and identifying opportunities, to ideation, prototyping, testing, into final, high quality visual design, production, and delivery.
The ideal candidate pushes boundaries, has an eye for detail, and partners with PM and Engineering to address the needs of our customers, users, and company strategy.On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for leading and empowering a team of designers to create and deliver innovative end-to-end user experiences that meet the needs of our customer’s business goals, make our users work lives easier, and embodies Salesloft’s future vision. Specifically, you will
- Foster a user-centered/design thinking team culture for framing and solving customer problems.
- Partner closely with leadership across product development and research to drive alignment on customer and business goals while identifying new opportunity areas and defining the vision of future experiences.
- Uphold and deliver high quality output by working with designers and product managers to review and critique the details of the design deliverables and user stories, posing questions and resolving ambiguities.
- Oversee and inspire the creation of design deliverables: flows, sketches, wireframes, customer journeys, concepts, and prototypes.
- Work with designers across scrum teams to prioritize and scope design work to ensure a balance between delivering design work on time while still pushing boundaries.
- Develop design talent and build a thriving culture where designers grow in their careers and feel a strong sense of inclusion and belonging.

THE SKILL SET:
- Experience building creative centers of excellence founded in UCD and design thinking.
- Drive collaboration and your vision with cross-functional product development teams and stakeholders to build alignment on priorities leading to cutting-edge product design and execution.
- Develop and lead a design program that supports multiple teams through the full product development cycle (discovery, concepts, prototypes, user feedback, and specs).
- Ensure innovative, modern, and high quality design deliverables (e.g. Flows, Sketches, Mockups, and Prototypes) meet the needs of our customers, users, internal stakeholders, and company strategic directions.
- Ability to clearly articulate a strong design rationale. Use storytelling to compel stakeholders and connect design decisions to broader strategic and business decisions.
- Partner with product development leadership peers to identify the ‘big rocks’ to tackle and work with scrum teams to break these big rocks down into manageable work efforts.
- Build and manage a talented, diverse, inclusive team of product designers that consistently delivers on projects and is well-balanced across a range of design skill sets.
- Active involvement in recruiting your team and concerted effort in retaining top talent
- 8+ years of experience as a design professional.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in UX/UI Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent professional experience within the design field.
- Demonstrate mastery and/or expertise in 2 or more of the following areas: Information Architecture, Interaction Design, Design System, Visual Design, Animation, Content Strategy, and User Research.
- Professional portfolio to present and communicate your work, approach, and accomplishments
- Ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to end that vary in scope and complexity and scale design resources accordingly, ensuring deadlines are met, your team is effective, and team members are set up for success by setting clear and measurable goals.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong presentation skills
WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU’LL:
- Attend Salesloft’s New Hire Orientation, where you will learn our Salesloft story and understand what makes our “Lofters” unique
- Attend an Product Department orientation
- Begin 1:1's with your manager, understand your 30-60-90 plan
- Begin 1:1's with your team members and understand their career goals
- Meet key players in departments that work directly with the design team
- Have an introduction to Salesloft’s hiring strategy and pair with your manager through the hiring process of designers
- Start attending Design team, PX org, and leadership meetings
WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU’LL:
- Set your OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) with your manager and develop an action plan to achieve them
- Work with Product and UX Leadership to Identify metrics to measure the design team against and report on them weekly
- Be able to help your direct reports start to achieve their career plans, providing input and guidance
- Operate independently on hiring design employees and facilitate fair and equitable candidate reviews - including offline exercises and interview questions
- Represent the design team and find your voice among the greater Product and Engineering team
- Feel comfortable with Salesloft’s product and the strategic direction we are heading.
- Consistently achieve your activity goals
WITHIN SIX MONTHS, YOU’LL:
- Be contributing at 100%, acting as a voice for Design and User Experience to the company - monitoring questions and discussions in slack channels, contributing to the conversation
- Have developed relationships with the Product Management and Development teams to help them achieve their goals.
- Provide suggestions for UCD and Design Thinking process improvements
- Work closely with designers to ensure top quality designs and deliverables are being delivered in a timely manner
- Provide and monitor backlog of product and design projects and work
- Introduce community outreach or other recruiting ideas to get us the best candidates for the design roles
- Continue to focus on your OKRs

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
