The Staff Accountant is an additional role being added and will act as an integral part of the PK Finance Team, responsible for supporting 4 growing, established companies. This role is suited for an individual seeking opportunities for growth and development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, the Staff Accountant should possess the ability to conduct a wide variety of detailed accounting duties and projects. An ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant role should be savvy in Excel, have experience with ERP systems or various accounting systems, have excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain a team-oriented environment. The Staff Accountant should meet timelines for completing assignments with deadlines and due dates and have strong integrity and ethics.
A self-motivated, reliable individual who can perform the following:
Cash and Expense Management
- Daily application of payments and deposits
- Oversee collections from the A/R department
- Manage outstanding checks
- Unclaimed property due diligence and reporting
- Manage corporate credit card enrollments and credit limits
- Review expense reports
A/R Backup
- Act as a backup to Accounts Receivable
Other Accounting Responsibilities
- Maintain vendors in accounting system
- Prepare general ledger accruals as part of the month end process
- Able to problem solve and review as necessary
- Function as a backup for various functions in the Finance Team
Skills / Experience necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 2-5 years accounting experience
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Must possess excellent organization and communication skills
- Microsoft Office experience required with emphasis in Excel spreadsheets
