The Director, Treasury & Investments will provide general financial oversight, with particular attention on planning budgeting, reporting, and funding. They will monitor, plan and manage the efficient utilization of cash in a manner consistent with the objectives of the Company. This individual will be responsible for corporate liquidity, investments, and risk management related to the company's financial activities. Additionally, they will assist in managing the Treasury Department by overseeing a team responsible for processing daily cash and investments transactions, act as liaison between Fortegra and designated financial institutions/portfolio manager, analyze investment portfolio and build reports, and monitor daily operational reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with corresponding experience.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting standards.
- Prior experience with an investment portfolio or investment accounting.
- A general understanding of bank functions and online banking processes.
Primary Job Functions:
- Maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities.
- Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment.
- Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
- Maintain banking relationships and communicate regularly with various banking counterparties regarding accounts and transactions as necessary.
- Open/close various bank accounts and support corresponding testing processes, and generally perform regular account management functions for the company’s bank accounts.
- Process payments through bank websites and portals including ACH and wires, foreign currency transactions, account transfers, and stop payments, including use of dual control functionality/oversight.
- Book journal entries to the general ledger via Oracle to reflect cash transactions processed.
- Run daily operational reports to recognize incoming cash and any returned items.
- Create weekly cash flow report for upper management and analyze future cash flows, historic trends, and excess balances.
- Various other ad hoc projects as needed.

Additional Job Functions:
- Communicate with Asset Manager for portfolio and reporting needs.
- Use Oracle and investment accounting platform to create analyses for asset growth, asset allocation, investment income, yield patterns, etc.
- Complete Investment footnote reports to support 10Q and 10K.
- Work with custodians on account opening and asset transfers, particularly for state regulatory requirements.
- Perform reconciliations between custodian statements and investment holding reports.
- Perform quarterly audit controls for investment portfolio.
- Book monthly investment journal entries.
- Verify and process various invoices.
