This opportunity is unique:

As
Director of Sales, reporting to our Chief Marketing Officer, you will define and build out the Sales function at Kajabi. Today, Kajabi serves over 60,000 customers. To help us get to our next stage of growth, we are building a Sales function so we can reach and convert creators who have more sophisticated needs or need more assistance during the purchase process.Since we are at the early stages of our Sales journey, we are looking for a Sales leader who has experience building a Sales function from the ground up, including identifying the target customer for an enterprise-level solution, understanding their needs, & defining a solution for them; testing a range of sales motions to determine how we reach the target customer; and identifying the resources needed to build out a successful Sales strategy.

The ideal candidate is excited to roll up their sleeves, make sales calls, & dive into the details of understanding our customers & their needs, and has a mindset of experimentation & learning.

This Job Involves


  • Identifying the target customer for an enterprise solution by talking to creators & leveraging internal learnings. Pinpointing their unmet needs, and defining the value proposition & features/services included in an enterprise solution, working closely with the Product, Marketing, & CX teams.
  • Using rapid experimentation cycles to determine how we best reach, engage with, & convert our target customers, and developing a playbook for our go-forward sales approach.
  • Scaling our early success with Kajabi Payments to unlock other opportunities for Sales to drive up-sells/cross-sells.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with internal teams & external partners to get alignment on resourcing, processes, tools, & support needed to build a successful Sales function.
  • Building, growing, & developing a Sales team.

About You


  • 10+ years of sales experience in technology companies that serve solopreneurs or small businesses.
  • Proven track record of building sales functions & teams from the ground up.
  • Experimentation mindset of testing big ideas, embracing & learning from failure, & trying again.
  • Eager to roll up their sleeves and do the work in the short term, with a desire to scale & build a team in the long term.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and works independently.
  • Critical thinker who uses customer insights, market research, and customer data & analytics to inform their point of view.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experienced people manager.
  • Passionate about Kajabi’s mission and our customers.

In-Office Requirement Statement


  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection. 
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 3-4 times a quarter and therefore is best situated in the Central or Western Time zones.

In an effort to provide greater transparency, we are sharing the base salary range for this position. The position is also eligible for equity. Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.

US based Applicants Pay Range


$165,000—$205,000
