Job Summary:
The Product Manager role is a blend of strategic and tactical ownership of the product development initiatives at GlobalMed. You will be a creative hands-on team member who can analyze and identify business needs and collaborate across all critical business units within the company. You should have the vision and drive to take an idea from concept to prototype to product and a desire to be involved in all aspects of the process. You should be excited to develop and own new products from scratch in a lean, agile, and tight-nit team, and aren’t afraid of wearing multiple hats to get it done when necessary.
You will work with industry partners, business development stakeholders, and engineering team members to define and refine product requirements. You will learn and employ the principles of realizing products in a highly regulated industry, seeing the big picture end-to-end and using that vision to drive the successful execution of our products in all aspects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the innovation team during all phases of the product design and development processes.
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research using multiple channels supported by on-going calls and interviews with customers and prospects.
- Work closely with product launch teams to help successfully bring new products to market.
- Keep the team organized and on track by helping to create internal goals, deadlines and communication.
- Work with and manage key outside vendor relationships.
- Work with management to build project budgets, timelines, documentation, and roadmaps.
- Develop product decks to communicate the vision and value of the projects the team is working on to key stakeholders.
- Scope and prioritize activities based on member and business impact.
- Help maintain the team’s agility as it expands.
- Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding of the products the team is developing.
- Play a key role in taking a concept from ideation, to prototype and ultimately productization and manufacturing.
- Maintain the team’s roadmap and vision to help break down and translate the big ideas into actionable tasks.
- Prepare, maintain, and evangelize the product roadmap which defines product enhancements for short- and long-term releases.
- Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, overseeing interdepartmental activities to execute plans.
- Analyze potential partner relationships for the product.
- Define feature roadmap for GlobalMed’s products based on business opportunities and market research.
- Work with sales management and other contributors to evaluate and prioritize opportunities and develop strategy.
- Work with the Education and Training team to develop product training plan internally and externally.
- Consult with Customer Support and Success teams to ensure appropriate service levels for the product line.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience and training.
Skills & Competencies:
- Display high mental aptitude, understanding how people and businesses operate.
- Experience managing a product that integrates with physical space.
- Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product development throughout its lifecycle, as a Product Owner, Project Manager and Product Manager.
- Experience managing a team in an agile product development process.
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in hardware, web, mobile, API-oriented product offerings.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; participates in meetings; writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
- Be creative (we’re inventing stuff here) and work smart, no matter the task assigned.

- You have shipped a multitude of products & can speak to the process of designing & building them with great detail.
- You have high emotional intelligence to relate your products to customer needs, and you recognize the importance of empathy in this process.
- You lead with data & research, not assumptions.
- You are very organized -- you write detailed user stories, maintain your backlog, & set clear goals that are shared throughout the organization.
- Experience working in the medical device industry a plus.
- Working knowledge of the practices and procedures of medical practices, and/or other healthcare related facilities.
- Experience working with broadly adopted health information exchange protocols including HL7, FHIR, DICOM, etc.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse, and computer for up to 6-8 hours per day.
- Ability to utilize telephone/video conferencing for approximately 2-4 hours per day.
- Ability to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform simple grasping, including handwriting, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, etc. periodically throughout the entire workday.
- Frequently remain in a stationary position throughout day.
- Occasionally move about inside and outside the premises.
