Job Summary:


The Technical Writer role hinges on collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups across the organization to produce both internally and externally facing technical publications in support of both product development and customer success initiatives. 

Duties & Responsibilities:  


  • Work with the Product Management team to produce product release-level documentation, including user manuals, administrator guides, work instructions, release notes, and case studies
  • Develop internal facing technical documentation in partnership with engineering and production teams 
  • Create and maintain templates for different document types using FrameMaker or other comparable tools
  • Conduct stakeholder reviews of technical documentation
  • Produce and maintain design control documentation in accordance with ISO 13485 quality management system requirements 
  • Work with the Compliance team to sustain information architecture
  • Provide input and feedback on marketing materials 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Competencies:


  • Proficiency with document processing tools, FrameMaker experience preferred 
  • Proficiency with document design tools, Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud experience preferred
  • Ability to grasp and translate technical concepts into plain language with supplemental graphics and imagery
  • Experience with developing document design for technical publications, including content structure, organization, layout, and readability 
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with document control best practices
  • Writes clearly and informatively, varies writing style to meet needs, presents numerical data effectively, able to read and interpret written information.
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Generates creative solutions, translates concepts and information into images, uses feedback to modify designs, applies design principles, demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles, measures self against standard of excellence, takes calculated risks to accomplish goals.
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, keeps commitments, commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals, completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:


  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 per day.
  • Ability to perform simple grasping, including handwriting, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, etc. periodically throughout the entire workday.
  • Frequently remain in a stationary position throughout day. 
  • Frequently move about inside and outside the premises.
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. 
  • Occasionally travel using a motor vehicle or utilize air travel.
