Your Role:


As a leader within Medical Affairs the Medical Director contributes to the overall direction and the development of medical strategy and execution of all medical tactics across the late phase development program(s). The results produced by the Medical Affairs Director must be scientifically sound and in compliance with applicable regulations and SpringWorks SOPs. They will be also accountable for the optimal execution of Medical Affairs plans and projects.Location Classification – Hybrid: ​This role will be required to work onsite 2 days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday), or more depending on business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • The medical director is expected to be an internal expert on the disease state as well as on the product data for which they are responsible.
  • Contributes to the development of the medical affairs strategy and leads the execution of tactical plans for the product for which they are responsible.
  • Is responsible for the development and execution of medical affairs research projects, including protocol development, communication with external research partners, managing study budget, and ensuring appropriate scientific communication of the completed projects.
  • Identifies, develops and maintains strong relationships with key opinion leaders
  • Understands the external environment and changes in clinical practice as it relates to SpringWorks’ disease areas of interest.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of the company’s expanded access program in collaboration with cross functional team members.
  • Is responsible for the development and execution of advisory boards, publication plans, congresses, scientific communication activities.
  • Contributes as required to the review of investigator-initiated research (IIR) proposals, as well as the management of ongoing IIR projects.
  • Works with the MSL National Lead to develop appropriate training plans and tools for the effective training of the field medical staff.
  • Identifies and maintains effective working relationships with key patient advocacy organizations in our disease areas of interest.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Role Requirements:


  • Education: MD, PHD or PharmD
  • 9+ years industry experience; at least 2 years of which must be in a medical affairs function.
  • Leadership skills including cross-functional teams with impacts outside own organization while promoting teamwork between business functions and regions.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop and implement effective strategies to achieve business results
  • Solid scientific analytical and problem-solving skills, project management and planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to design and conduct various phases of clinical trials, including ability to critically review and analyze study designs

Compensation and Benefits:


The expected salary range for this position is $222,789.00 - $307,125.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
