Job Summary: 


The Manager of Quality will facilitate efficient production operations by planning, leading, and implementing quality assurance programs. Safeguarding the health of the Engineering Change and ERP systems for medical device manufacturing.

Duties & Responsibilities:  


  • Manage Quality Control department personnel including creation of tasks, managing employee work loads, and providing support for any challenges raised. 
  • Act as a liaison with internal parties on matters relating to quality issues.
  • Manage Engineering Change Process
  • Ensure the company ERP system accurately reflects released engineering prints and bill of materials. 
  • Process owner for Device Calibration, Nonconforming Material Review, Incoming Inspection, and Final Product Inspection
  • Perform inspection activities of incoming controlled material to ensure compliance to company quality standards.
  • Perform final product inspections of finished devices to ensure compliance to company quality standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Job has supervisory responsibilities including: Directly supervising 1-4 (range) employees within the Quality Control and Receiving department(s).
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Competencies: 


  • Three years’ experience in an ISO 13485 device manufacturing environment
  • Functional understanding of medical device Quality Management Systems, 21 CFR Part 820 and Part 11, ISO 13485
  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawings and bill of material
  • Keen attention to detail
  • PC literacy including MS Office and Outlook
  • Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Listens to others without interrupting; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.
  • Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions.
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.

Physical Demands & Work Environment: 


  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse, and computer for up to 7 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift and/or move at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform simple grasping, including handwriting, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, etc. periodically throughout the entire workday.
  • Occasionally remain in a stationary position throughout day. 
  • Occasionally move about inside and outside the premises.
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. 
  • Occasionally travel using a motor vehicle or utilize air travel.
  • Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals.
