Your Team
The NXP Leuven design center focuses on ultra-low-power ICs for the healthcare segment. We are offering internships to master students willing to extend their knowledge with a practical assignment.
Subject of the Internship
Along the year, we offer various internships in our group in charge of the development of healthcare IC's.The exact subject of the internship is defined together with the student and his/her supervisor. Subjects are always connected to digital hardware or embedded firmware. Examples of subjects are:
design and simulation of a digital peripheral of a micro-controller
creation of a SystemC model of a digital hardware module
FPGA bitmap generation from an RTL description
scripts development in Python for IC design, verification and validation
development of a Bluetooth Low Energy demonstration app
Security vulnerability analysis
HW/SW co-simulation
Your Responsibilities
Learn the design environment used for the development of digital IC's and/or embedded firmware
Understand the requirements.
Work out a solution, with the support of your supervisor
Demonstrate the results
Write a report and make a presentation of the results

Your Profile
First or second year of Master of Science –Engineer school
Affinity with VHDL/Verilog/SystemC/Python language development (for hardware internships)
Affinity with embedded C and OS (for software internships)
Experience in Linux environment is a plus
Good level of English is required (attendance to meetings / presentations with international team, reading and writing of documentation)

Duration
This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) with a duration of 6 months or longer. The assignment could also be suitable as a thesis/graduation project. Please note that in order to be considered for an internship/working student assignment, you need to be registered as a student during the entire period.
