The Business Development Manager will oversee the expansion of business operations, recognize and realize potential partners and develop organizational initiatives. This position will lead a team of Business Development Representatives to
find and develop new customers, manage leads, and grow business with new and stagnant customers.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversees the activities and performance of Business Development Representatives ensuring that all activities are adding value to the business.
- Identifies opportunities to build the business and complete business deals.
- Ensures the successful delivery of business outcomes through strategic business plans.
- Directly manages key marketing and communication objectives aimed at new business initiatives.
- Oversees the generation of leads for prospective new customers.
- Supports Business Development Representatives in a mentorship role by assisting in the execution of their duties and promoting constant development of professional skills.
- Collaborates with the Sales Manager and Chief Sales Officer to formulate strategic initiatives for business development.
- May assist in negotiations with prospective customers.
- Ensures that the department maintains a consistent and high departmental performance standard.
- Adheres to the company’s Core Values in all business transactions and decisions.
- Will gather relevant statistical information and draft reports regarding the overall performance of the team.
- Conducts regular performance, marketing and competitive analyses in order to gauge market penetration and opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
- Previous Sales, Customer Service, and Management experience in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
- Proven and successful ability to work with teams across the business.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with a cross-functional team and customers.
- Must be adept with MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to hold individuals and the team accountable for their duties and goals.
