Payroll Clerk
$45k-$50k DOE | Full time | In-person (Cave Creek/ 101, North Phoenix) The payroll clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll and related tasks. This includes calculating and verifying payroll data, preparing payroll reports, and maintaining payroll records. The payroll clerk will work closely with the accounting team to ensure that all payroll-related activities are completed efficiently and accurately.Ideal candidates are sharp with attention to detail and courteous with strong computer skills; equipped with an established foundation of basic accounting and payroll skills.
What we’re looking for:
- Data entry ensuring that records are complete and current.
- Prepare and process payroll reports, including gross pay, net pay, and tax withholding.
- Maintain payroll records, including time sheets and payroll documents
- Handle payroll-related inquiries and issues from internal and client requests
- Perform payroll-related tasks, such as garnishment calculations and employee benefit calculations
- Ensure compliance with state and federal payroll laws and regulations
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience with payroll processing procedures
- High level of accuracy and efficiency
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Courteous with strong customer service skills
- Strong data entry skills, Typing (65+wpm)
- High attention to detail, excellent math skills
