Apply to www.delreysys.com | Careers Page.DEL REY Systems & Technology is seeking a highly experienced Senior Logistics Management Specialist to assist the DoD Program Office in the management of the capability project portfolio in support of a DoD program. This role requires direct experience within the government space; commercial industry experience supporting both U.S. Defense and FMS sustainment operations.
The right candidate will have demonstrated strong experience and understanding of the military service’s sustainment hierarchy, including Program Offices, Program Executive Offices, Hardware and Supply Systems Commands, Defense Logistics Agency, Service Research, Development & Acquisition Secretariats and the Office of the Secretary of Defense Logistics Secretariat.
Responsibilities:
- Providing analytical support to various projects to include performing professional or technical logistics work
- Tracking and analyzing various vendor production status reports and conducting investigations to understand issues that may arise during production type projects
- Preparing technical/logistics studies and trade studies to develop the most cost-effective approach for providing the required logistics support to deployed systems and equipment
- Analyzing, preparing and presenting data to leadership
- Planning, coordinating, administering and presenting working group meetings and briefings to various stakeholders and senior leadership
- Collaborating and coordinating with a cross-matrix organization to ensure contract deliverables are adequately reviewed from a total logistics support perspective and approved in accordance with contract requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, and at least fifteen (15) years of relevant military logistics experience. Master’s degree highly desired.
- Minimum ten (10) years of hands-on experience in and comprehensive knowledge of Defense weapon system sustainment operations, including Operational, Intermediate and Depot level maintenance as well as their associated Supply, Contracting and Financial functions. Experience should span the full spectrum of DOD and private sector sustainment, reinforced by deep insights into commercial best practices across the sustainment and supply support spectrum.
- Minimum of ten (10) years minimum of hands-on experience assisting Product Support Managers develop and deliver improved weapon system sustainment strategies with project management experience to include previous assignments leading support to DoD Program Offices for development & optimization of product support strategies, business case analysis development, and product support strategy implementation across military Services, DLA, and allied nations.
- Minimum twelve (12) years of experience working in logistics programs with a min of 7 Logistics Elements or a combined fifteen (15) years of experience in two or more of the following: program execution oversight; analytical and problem solving related to logistical issues; software defined radio or similar
- Knowledgeable of Performance Based Logistics (PBL) and PBL-enabled Public Private Partnerships (P3). Experience advising and implementing P3 arrangements that support the expansion of product support strategies and depot repair capabilities in a DoD system or product environment
- Proven excellence in writing and communication skills to provide updates and analysis of program logistics documentation
- Experience in working with various military services to validate ILS requirements and implement logistics support plans to meet requirements
- Experience in translating requirements to specifications
- Understanding of reliability, maintainability, and logistics requirements documented in U.S. Code Title 10, DoDI 5000.02, DoDD 5000.01, and NAVINST 5000.2.
- Proven leadership skills in organizations working with the DoD.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to navigate each department at the assigned facility.
Location:
This is a full-time hybrid position. The workforce is required to report physically to the Client office located in San Diego, CA three times a week. Additional days at the office may be required from time to time as required to support the workload or client’s request. Travel <10%
