Simplexity has a firm belief that when individual parts are brought together, connected, and allowed to interact, an even better system with its own properties and processes emerges.We are seeking a contract Electrical Design Engineer with new product development experience.This position is ideal for someone who has a strong technical background and years of experience designing PCAs for the consumer electronics industry.POSTION DESCRIPTION

  • Design circuit schematics and complete or facilitate PCB layout
  • Perform board bring-up and integration testing in collaboration with mechanical and firmware/software
  • Write test procedures and assist in formal verification of design function.
  • Manage bills of materials and redesign for parts obsolescence or constrained supply chain.
  • Apply design principles to prevent electromagnetic interference and assist with certification to EMC standards.
  • Work closely and communicate regularly with clients to keep stakeholders apprised of project status, issues, design decisions, and risks
  • This position requires you to work on site at Simplexity’s client office in Bellevue for at least 3 days per week and more when significant integration activities are taking place
  • Full-time anticipated through the end of 2024 and possibly beyond, depending on performance and business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineeringor similar technical degree from an accredited four-year university.
  • 4+ years of relevant, professional engineering experience. 
  • Experience with MCU / embedded design
  • Knowledge of low power design
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills combined with attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and plan effectively.
  • Have a positive attitude and focus on client success.
  • Ethical and honest in every part of the job.

PLUSES TO HAVE

  • RF experience preferred
  • Strong experience with Altium toolset

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSTwo type of contractor roles will be considered:1. 1099 contractors (have your own registered consulting/contracting business)

  • Hourly rate $100 - $130/hr, depending on experience
  • No benefits, holidays, or paid time off (PTO) included

2. W-2 contractor (employee of Simplexity)

  • Hourly rate $75 - $95/hr, depending on experience
  • Excellent Healthcare plan (Medical, Dental, and Vision) fully paid for by the company for the employee; partial payment for dependents
  • 401(k) plan with company match after 1,000 hours of service
  • Long-term and short-term disability, AD&D and Life Insurance
  • 11 paid holidays
  • 15 days of paid-time-off (PTO) accured each year
