The Grant Manager is part of the Research and Innovation department composed of R&D teams based in China and the Netherlands. In this role, you will manage the grant-funded and internally funded R&D projects from acquisition to final reporting. You will interact with Principal Scientists and platform leaders, reporting to the Head of Research & Innovation.
Responsibilities
- Act as overall manager of R&D project administration for CBLD, CBUT and CBInc
- Explore funding calls from national and international subsidy providers and propose yearly plan in aligned with Crown’s strategy.
- Liaise with external grant management bureau's to partner in grant-funded collaborations
- Match internal R&D needs with external funding opportunities
- Work with senior CB scientists and external consortium partners to formulate and submit grant proposals
- Liaise with external project coordinators and CB legal for execution of consortium agreements etc.
- Identify optimum external academic and industrial partners for consortia to meet internal R&D goals
- Optimise grant revenues to cover necessary personnel, equipment and consumables
- Represent CB at project consortium meetings on-line and in person
- Manage periodic scientific and financial reporting to subsidy providers
- Manage budgets and forecasts for grant revenues and report to CB management
- Track scientific progress (deliverables) and (personnel) costs of grant-funded projects
- Manage quality and timely submission of internal R&D projects for the annual R&D round
- Apply for the WBSO and manage the application
Requirements
- Master or PhD degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent required
- 3+ years of experience in research grant/project management
- Broad scientific knowledge and ability to research scientific topics and communicate results.
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management
- Eligible to live and work in the Netherlands (no sponsorship possible)
