What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Operate as the principal architect and integration engineer for delivery of clients, software, and specialized hardware which interfaces between vehicle, MES, and electrical commissioning systems
- Partner directly with Electrical Planning & Testing and Industrial Engineering team in the support of ensuring commissioning technologies are production ready
- Perform technical planning across multiple technology domains in the electrical proofing space
- Act as key liaison between software joint venture, internal production business partners, and electrical proofing stakeholders
- Ensure legal and software relevant version data is properly captured and stored in protected data repositories
- Develop Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans with business partners to ensure stable operations in a 24x7 environment
- Create and maintain Technology Architecture documentation for transparency
- Ensure manufacturing technology solutions are tested and fully integrated into Scout cybersecurity strategy
- Create software and relevant Hardware Lifecycle Plans for ECU relevant technologies
- Work with the IT, Production, and Planning teams to deliver a multiyear lifecycle plan to support 1st to 3rd level incidents, problems, and maintenance including milestones for all known hardware versions, functional upgrades, and successor technology implementation and maintenance.
- Work with the production and pilot hall departments to determine the expected level of performance and risks regarding new processes and systems relevant to car electrical commissioning.
- Project manage key components supporting the electrical and software profile of the vehicle ensuring operational readiness for factory operations
- Develop, document, and train IT Shop Floor colleagues on processes to ensure system component knowledge, troubleshooting, and excellent mean time to recovery
- Support continuous improvement processes (incident management, change management, problem management) on the production floor.
- Create and Maintain recovery processes documents and work Instructions for hand over to IT support operations
- Identify Automated Solutions which promote self-healing and self-service technologies to support business process maturity or improvement
- Deliver line side technology solutions in coordination with planning department and automation expert responsible for integration of core production systems to Plant Production Processes
- Works with the application specialist and enterprise architecture team to identify infrastructure components impacting key performance indicators
- Ensure monitoring and visualization capabilities are made available to support teams to aid in efficient recovery if an issue is encountered.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices related to MES, Manufacturing IT, and production and logistics process management.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) production system architecture, providing technical expertise and guidance to Plant stakeholders.
- Lead during the early phases of a project/initiative, responsible for scoping the project, gathering requirements, collaboration with domain architects, and leading the teams to put together a scalable and sustainable solution.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field preferred, and 8+ years relevant experience in manufacturing facilities
- Operate as the principal architect and integration engineer for IT landscape relevant to electrical / software systems
- Success in delivering complex technology solutions under a tight timeline
- Proven track record of combining unique hardware and software components in to a uniform solution architecture
- Excellent project management skills with a keen ability to break down complex task into reportable smaller components to maintain tracking visibility
- Ability to prepare, organize, and present technical decision papers to upper management
- Broad knowledge, both logical and physical, of various technologies domains
- Experience working across manufacturing business domains
- Experience with vehicle offline and inline testing technologies and methodologies
- Deep understanding of system integration points between hardware technologies and software solutions which leverage varied interface types (eg. Handheld, tablets, scanners, cameras, Wi-Fi, integrated touchscreens, etc.)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in large hardware integration projects and modern IT architecture concepts.
- Proven track record of deploying and moving solutions to operational readiness in a 24/7 production environment.
- Experience working with monitoring teams to provide end to end visibility to manufacturing stakeholders and supporting responsible
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, then develop improved solutions to mitigate or eliminate issue recurrence.
- Ability to translate high level needs into architecture requirements, then communicating these requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Innovative mindset with ability to think outside the box and deliver, when necessary, temporary solutions to meet emergency demands.
- Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with others efficiently and effectively in a dynamic greenfield environment.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.Initial base salary range = $120,000-$140,000Internal leveling code: IC8
