PCMI (Policy Claim Management International) is a fast-growing, leading provider of integrated software for Extended Warranty Management and Finance and Insurance (F&I) administration. We are a SaaS company that operates in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. Our 3 teams located in the US, Poland, and Thailand work collaboratively around the clock to build our PCRS platform that automates the full administration lifecycle of all extended warranties, F&I products, and service contracts for our customers.
What You’ll Do
The Database Administrator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the database infrastructure supports the organization's data management needs effectively, securely, and efficiently.
In this role, you will:
- Implement and manage complex SQL database systems.
- Optimize database structure for performance, stability, and integrity.
- Ensure database security through user access controls, encryption, and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Adhere to regular audit and security measures.
- Diagnose and resolve database issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Use logs, monitoring tools, and your expertise to troubleshoot complex database issues.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of database designs, processes, and procedures.
- Coordinate with global IT teams and business units to align database solutions with business needs.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for database operators, including backup schedules, security protocols, and data management policies.
- Continuously monitor database performance using tools and techniques to identify potential issues, bottlenecks or irregularities.
- Analyze database metrics such as CPU utilization, memory usage, I/O performance and query execution times to ensure optimal database performance.
- Ensure high availability by monitoring replication, backups, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
What You’ll Need to Join Our Team
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCSA: SQL Server, or other relevant certifications.
- At least 3 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster planning.
- Experience in performance tuning and monitoring to ensure optimal performance.
- Deep understanding of SQL, ability to work with various database platforms (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of database optimization techniques, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
- Proficiency in database monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic, SolarWinds, Nagios, etc)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
