Cliff Berry, Inc. is hiring a Welder/Fabricator for our Fort Lauderdale location. The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for performing various welding and fabrication tasks while adhering to health and safety protocols. This role includes welding, equipment maintenance, shop organization, and assisting with small engine repair. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient execution of projects and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
- Perform welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, on various materials and structures.
- Assist with the setup and preparation of welding equipment.
- Support the construction, maintenance, and repair of metals and other materials.
- Operate and maintain cutting tools, torches, and welding machines.
- Assist with cleaning and finishing welds to ensure quality standards.
- Organize tools and materials to ensure efficient workflow and easy access for staff.
- Conduct pre- and post-inspections on equipment and perform necessary repairs.
- Maintain and repair small engines and equipment, including pumps, boat motors, hydraulics, fittings, and valves.
- Clean and lubricate machinery and tools as part of routine maintenance.
- Handle and transport materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Organize tools and materials to optimize workflow and accessibility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard area, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces.
- Dispose of waste materials in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.
- Perform small engine repair and maintenance on equipment such as pumps, boat motors, hydraulics, fittings, and valves.
- Drive company service vehicles as required to support job functions and deliver materials or equipment as needed.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
Required Skills:
- Understanding of welding principles, techniques, and safety practices.
- Knowledge of small engine repair and maintenance techniques.
- Familiarity with warehouse and shop safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good physical condition and ability to handle heavy equipment and materials.
- Problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of mechanical principles related to pumps, boat motors, hydraulics, fittings, and valves.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of welding experience, with proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company standards.
- Experience in welding, specifically MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and materials.
- Familiarity with cutting tools, torches, and welding machinery.
- Basic skills in small engine repair and hydraulic systems maintenance.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance.
Preferred Experience
- Previous body shop experience preferred

The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop or walk in the performance of essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The employee should test in the acceptable range for vision, hearing, and respiratory functions.
