How you’ll make an Impact
As the Director, Network and Security Operations you will lead and manage the network and security operations teams at Ntiva. You’ll be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and overall IT security posture, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and secure operations for our clients’ environments.
Summary of Location and Hours
- This is a remote position with occasional travel to our office locations, up to 20% of the time
- Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm CST (possible after hours as needed)
What You'll be Doing
Network and Security Operations Leadership
- Lead the Network and Security Operations teams, overseeing daily operations, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that enhance client network and security performance, stability, and compliance.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and management of complex network and security architectures for client environments.
- Ensure the scalability and resiliency of the network infrastructure to meet growing client demands and industry standards.
Cybersecurity and Risk Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy that addresses risk management, threat detection, response, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor, assess, and respond to potential security incidents and vulnerabilities, coordinating incident response processes and root-cause analysis.
- Oversee vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify risks and drive remediation efforts.
- Accountable for the operation, maintenance, and ongoing support of security tools and services that facilitate client environments.
Backup & Disaster Recovery (BDR)
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) strategies to ensure data integrity, minimize downtime, and protect client assets.
- Oversee regular testing of backup and recovery processes, ensuring systems can be restored quickly in the event of an outage or data loss incident.
- Collaborate with clients to define Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) that align with business requirements.
- Lead post-incident reviews to analyze root causes and implement improvements in backup and disaster recovery procedures.
System OS and Network Device Patching
- Oversee the patch management process for servers, operating systems, network devices, and other critical infrastructure, ensuring timely updates to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Establish a structured patching schedule and coordinate with internal and client teams to minimize disruption while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor and assess the impact of new patches and updates, working closely with IT teams to test and validate changes before deployment.
- Maintain detailed patching records and generate compliance reports for internal audits and client reviews.
Firewall Maintenance and Security
- Manage the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of firewalls to safeguard client networks against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Regularly review and update firewall rules, policies, and configurations based on security best practices and evolving client needs.
- Implement logging and alerting mechanisms to detect suspicious activity, and lead incident response efforts for any detected threats or breaches.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure firewall settings align with the overall security architecture and regulatory compliance requirements.
Client Engagement and Satisfaction
- Act as a senior point of escalation for client-related issues and incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution to maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Client Service Delivery and Client Success teams to develop security and network solutions that align with client needs and expectations.
- Maintain strong client relationships by clearly communicating security protocols, network health, and any necessary changes or updates to ensure client confidence.
Team Management and Development
- Build and lead a high-performing team of network and security professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and supporting career growth.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation in line with business needs.
Strategic Planning and Innovation
- Work with senior leadership to define the strategic direction of the network and security operations, aligning with business goals and future growth plans.
- Identify and implement emerging technologies and innovative practices to enhance network performance, security, and operational efficiency.
- Develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on the effectiveness of network and security operations, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
You'll be successful in this role if you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in network and security operations, with a proven track record of success.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in managing teams and driving operational excellence.
- Strong ability to collaborate and engage effectively with diverse teams and external partners.
- Proven experience in budget planning, management, and cost optimization.
- Exceptional project management skills, adept at handling multiple initiatives simultaneously while ensuring timely delivery.
- Proficiency in ConnectWise or other similar Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools.
Required language skills
- Ability to communicate professionally, in English, both written and orally
- Ability to write business correspondence and process procedures
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public

The base pay range for this position is expected to be between $130,000.00 and $160,000 per year, plus an annual on-target bonus if applicable, not all roles are subject to a bonus. The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, and PTO. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Workspace Requirements and Remote Work Policy
Team members must establish a dedicated safe workspace that is free from distractions, hazards, and that is secure from unauthorized access. This includes following Ntiva’s IT User and Security Policies that include but are not limited to password-protecting all equipment, keeping confidential and proprietary documents secure, refraining from using public Wi-Fi, having adequate arrangements in place to avoid significant interruptions from caregiving responsibilities during work hours (except in emergency situations with manager approval).
Any remote work away from a team member’s normal expected dedicated safe workspace must be requested by team member, is subject to review by management, and must adhere to Ntiva policies and procedures.
