Our Baltimore office is looking for a strong Project Manager to join the PK-12 Education Studio and contribute to its further growth and development. We are seeking someone with excellent communication, organizational skills. and deep knowledge of school construction projects, who will guide our school design teams through all design and construction phases.

About The Position
- Contributes to the growth and development of our PK-12 studio through participation in business development and project pursuits, and through guidance and mentorship of junior staff
- Actively collaborates with and coordinates work for our internal HCM team as well as our project consultants and is a knowledge resource to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals of the project
- Develops a thorough understanding of projects’ design philosophy and provides input in developing a design and building performance strategy and effectively conveys this to assigned team members when appropriate
- Contributes to project’s technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination and quality control efforts during all phases of project work, in close collaboration with the design team
- Seeks creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develops appropriate research and documents to support these solutions
- Contributes to the preparation of design documents and detailed development of construction documents during all project phases
- Delivers complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation
- Directs the construction documentation team and ensures that the quality and design intent is maintained
- Builds and maintains a strong knowledge of emerging technology and innovations related to building technology.
- Reviews shop drawings, material samples and CD’s for conformance with design
- Performs construction administration duties (e.g. RFI’s, RFP’s, change orders, etc.)
- Maintains contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client and owner presentations as required
About You
- 10 - 15 years of experience in the architectural field
- License required
- Experience working with Maryland public school districtspreferred
- Experience with and demonstrated commitment to high-performance building design and sustainability
- Direct experience with net-zero energy and/or carbon-neutral projects preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading project teams
- Experience leading client meetings and sub-consultant coordination
- Strong Revit skills
- Experience in preparing construction documents and construction administration
- Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations

Maryland Statement
The projected base salary for this full-time position is $90,000-$115,000. Hord Coplan Macht’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, as well as the individual’s education, experience, and skillsets. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of HCM’s total compensation package for employees.
