CPower is based in Baltimore, MD., and is owned by LS Power, a development, investment and operating company focused on the power and energy infrastructure sector.We are looking for a Customer Operations Analyst Intern to be a part of the Operations team focused on enrollments, settlements and payments.
This individual will work closely with our market operations analysts to complete customer fulfillment activities for one or more programs or markets, analysis of performance data, and finding new opportunities that the CPower team can capitalize on to improve. This individual should be able to take direction and be comfortable asking clarifying questions to execute work in a timely manner. They should also be inquisitive to understand the business processes, industry, and customer experience to provide recommendations for improvement. In addition, this role requires individuals to communicate effectively to both non-technical and technical team members across functional teams including executive management. They will be expected to support education and training to the end users on any changes they implement during their internship in partnership with the Operations team.
Success in this role requires continual review and improvement of existing processes and procedures.
Program Overview
This paid internship program will run for 11 weeks beginning June 2, 2025 and ending August 15, 2025.
This role may be either remote or hybrid. While this role can be fully remote, there is preference for a candidate who can also regularly report to our office in Baltimore, MD.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support activities to enroll assets in Independent System Operator (ISO)/Utility markets, settle and/or shadow-settle events and test events, and report on both asset- and portfolio-level compliance.
- Support the calculation and submission of customer payments.
- Provide lead support on system and process improvement projects.
- Develop customized reporting (PowerBI, Excel, CRM and/or internal systems) for customers and operations management.
- Assists in creating performance reports.
Requirements
- Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Business Administration, Energy, Computer Science, or related field.
- Energy- or sustainability-related interest, experience or education a plus, but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills along with listening and presentation abilities.
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Access and Outlook, VBA and/or Python experience a strong plus).
- Proficiency in Excel is of paramount importance.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills and the ability to apply these concepts to practical business situations.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Demonstrated ability to be responsive to internal and external customer requests, consistent follow-up during problem resolution, providing meaningful and timely information.
