POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Supervisor is a key member of the Operations leadership team supporting Zenith’s West Coast Terminals assets. This position is the front-line supervisor for the day-to-day operations. Position reports directly to the Terminal Manager. Responsibilities include assisting Terminal Manager with all aspects of pipeline, truck, and storage tank operations at the Terminal(s); directing work; training employees; providing on-call support; planning, assigning, and directing work. Operations Supervisor will resolve problems, address complaints, and manage performance as needed.
Responsible for environmentally compliant andsafe and efficient operations. The Operations Supervisor is also responsible for interfacing with customers in a field environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise employees, assigning job tasks as necessary for all product movements, maintenance support, and training activities.
- Assist Terminal Manager in performing all duties to include but not limited to scheduling, budgeting, reporting, environmental compliance, and customer interactions.
- Follows and enforces all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient operations.
- Tracks and directs pipeline movements
- Train and develop employees in all operations.
- Communicates company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets specifications, and job orders to employees, and assigns duties as necessary.
- Suggests changes in processes/procedures to improve safety and/or efficient operations.
- Ensure proper PPE is used and tasks are completed in compliance with Safe Work Practices.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Act as backup to Scheduler position. Learn scheduling duties, including interacting with clients/commercial department/operations and maintenance.
- Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and members of other departments.
- Audit work permits
- Analyzes and resolves issues and assists in finding solutions.
- Evaluate, make recommendation of employee’s job performance.
- Assures that new employees are trained as necessary for tasks to be performed.
- Must create and follow through to completion on the hiring of employees, to include new employee training and job progressions as required.
- Monitor performance of allocated staff
- Be able to work day shift including weekend & holidays. Schedule consists of working 2, 12-hour work days, followed by 2 days off, followed by 3, 12-hour work days, followed by 3 days off.
- Be on rotating call out to support off duty operations
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have at least 5 years operational experience in mid-stream sector.
- Must possess at least 5 years of operational experience in a dynamic environment, as well as experience directly supervising others.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Office Suite general products
CERTFICATIONS/LICENSES
:
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
- Must obtain and/or meet all requirements and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) & appropriate Hazwopper training after beginning employment.
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
:
- Climb tank stairs, manually open and close valves, occasionally moving or lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Walk on paved, gravel or other surfaces.
- Manipulate and use hand tools in performance of various tasks.
- See / visual ability to perform various administrative and field operator tasks.
- Must be available for shift work when applicable.
- Field activities may include walking to and among work and/or constructions sites, climbing in and out of trenches, working around heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
- Must be available for responding to operational questions and/or emergency situations on a 24/7 basis
- May be required to work non-traditional hours as needed.
