The Role
Looker Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence (BI) solutions using Looker. Looker is a popular data analytics and visualization platform that enables organizations to analyze and explore their data effectively. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders, data engineers, and other team members to deliver high-quality BI solutions that meet the business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable Looker data models and dashboards.• Design and develop Look ML models that represent the underlying data sources and relationships, ensuring accuracy and optimal performance.• Build custom Looker dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Look ML, Looker's modeling language.• Transform and optimize data from multiple sources into a format suitable for analysis and reporting within Looker.• Implement appropriate security measures and access controls to ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations.• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in Looker queries, models, and dashboards to improve overall system performance.• Create and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, data lineage, and system architecture diagrams.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data analysts, and business users, to understand their needs and provide effective BI solutions.• Provide training and support to end-users on how to effectively use Looker to access and analyze data.
What will set you apart?
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).• Proven experience in developing business intelligence solutions using Looker, including data modeling, Look ML development, and dashboard creation.• Strong SQL skills with experience in writing complex queries and optimizing query performance.• Experience working with large datasets and implementing performance optimization techniques.• Knowledge of data governance and security best practices in BI solutions.• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with stakeholders at various levels.• Familiarity with other BI tools and technologies (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
