Job Purpose
We seek an experienced professional to be our Senior Manager of Technology PMO. This position combines strategic oversight of IT operations with leadership of our Project Management Office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT operations, financial management, project delivery, and process optimization. This role is crucial in enhancing the effectiveness of our IT department by driving key business priorities, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring seamless execution of technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership and Execution:
- Act as a strategic advisor to IT leadership, ensuring objectives are clearly communicated and executed.
- Develop and implement PMO strategies aligned with organizational goals and IT objectives.
- Coordinate the planning and execution of critical projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Project and Portfolio Management:
- Manage the IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business priorities and resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain project management methodologies, best practices, and standards across the IT department.
- Implement and maintain project prioritization frameworks to optimize resource utilization and maximize business value.
- Process Definition and Optimization:
- Define and implement a comprehensive Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology tailored to the organization's needs.
- Establish and continuously improve project management processes, ensuring they align with industry best practices and organizational requirements.
- Develop and oversee vendor management processes, including selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
- Create and maintain partner engagement processes to ensure effective collaboration and value delivery.
- Define and implement software acquisition processes, including needs assessment, evaluation, procurement, and integration.
- Vendor, Partner, and Software Management:
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and procurement of software solutions, negotiating cost-effective contracts.
- Oversee vendor and partner relationships, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and deliver value.
- Manage software licensing, ensuring compliance and optimizing spending.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the PMO team and collaborate with various IT teams, fostering an environment of accountability and high performance.
- Provide strategic guidance to IT teams, utilizing dotted-line relationships to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for projects, PMO, and overall IT department performance.
- Prepare and present regular status reports on project progress, operational performance, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
- Change Management and Communication:
- Develop and deliver communications that align internal stakeholders with IT initiatives and projects.
- Lead change management efforts related to new processes, tools, and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a mix of operations management, project management, and process improvement experience.
- Strong understanding of IT operations, SDLC methodologies, project management frameworks, and vendor management processes.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required; additional certifications in IT governance (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) or Agile methodologies are a plus.
- Proven experience in defining and implementing IT processes, particularly in SDLC, project management, and vendor/partner management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams focusing on operational excellence and strategic alignment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with financial management, budgeting, and procurement in an IT context is highly preferred.

Working Conditions
