Senior Software Engineer, Payments Team

About the role:


We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Israel development team. The Payments Engineering team owns and operates multiple Payment offerings in Forter. While partially greenfield, several offerings are already gaining traction with the biggest e-commerce brands in the world. The Payment products enable our customers to optimize their payment completion rates, potentially having a big impact on their bottom-line revenue. These products also require extremely high (>99.99%) availability and are sensitive to any kind of disruptions.

Our goals are to continue with rapid development but ensure stability and resilience are top-notch.

What you'll be doing:


  • You want to join the Payments domain early when Forter is just expanding it.
  • Work closely with customers. Understand customer needs and help customers incorporate Forter’s payment solutions.
  • Brainstorm features with product managers and your peers and guide decisions based on your knowledge of the codebase and experience.
  • You want to own systems that require >99.99% yearly availability.
  • Provide software solutions to complicated challenges we face daily.
  • Ensuring our services are top quality and a source of pride for Forter
  • Take part in planning the roadmap for future technical investments in the domain.

Who are you?


  • At least 5 years of hands-on backend engineering experience, preferably with 1-2 companies outside the army.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for providing technical solutions that bring immediate impact
  • Professional-level spoken and written English proficiency
  • Able to creatively think about solutions and technical solutions
  • Good grasp of cloud concepts in at least 1 cloud (AWS preferable)
  • Team player - works well with other people in the team and brings positive energy

It would be cool if you also have:


  • Experience with Postgres (using AWS RDS), and Redis (AWS ElastiCache)
  • Experience with Typescript, React, and Mobile
  • Experience growing a secondary company business to big scale
  • Experience in the Payments or Fintech domains
