Job Summary:


The Front Desk Coordinator is a key role and requires a positive attitude, professional boundaries, expert patience, and a welcoming persona while managing a busy front desk.  On a daily basis over one hundred members interact with our front desk and the Front Desk Coordinator is a source of hospitality and connection. The Front Desk Coordinator must be able to use good judgment regarding admittance to the Club and follow all posted policies and procedures in a consistently fair manner.   This position safeguards personal information about members of the Chief Seattle Club.

It requires daily usage of the Clarity/HMIS client tracking database system. This position requires in-person/office duties. 

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Sign in members on appropriate databases/books 
  • Maintain the lobby whiteboard with daily information 
  • Answer/make phone calls and intercom announcements in a courteous and professional matter  
  • Receive incoming mail, date stamp, and disburse 
  • Take messages and direct phone calls appropriately 
  • Greet visitors and explain Chief Seattle Club services 
  • Monitor video surveillance 
  • Copying, faxing and filing as needed 
  • Assign approved volunteers to the front desk; appropriately train volunteers the front desk procedures 
  • Light housekeeping: sanitize the countertops throughout the day, make sure desk remains clutter-free, clean the door glass, and check the lobby for cleanliness throughout the day 
  • Greet Chief Seattle Club partners and assist them as needed 
  • Attend daily huddles and monthly all-staff meetings. 
  • Have the ability to ask members to leave the facility if they aren’t following our Day Center code of conduct 
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Attends and participates in CSC training, staff meetings, and monthly CSC partners meeting

Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements: 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: work at a stationary work space for long periods of time, with mobility to move throughout the office; use a PC, constantly reaching with hands and fingers and keyboarding extensively; work with team as frequent communication is required, including use of the telephone; be able to read and write documents in hard and electronic copy, including those requiring great attention to detail; have the physical strength and agility to handle routine office tasks and machinery.

Occasional travel may be required for certain employees depending on location. This position is typically in an office environment with desktop business equipment and frequent telephone calls. Noise level is moderate. Frequent interruptions are common, while under deadlines and time constraints.Most positions at CSC are exposed to members of the community who have experienced or are experiencing trauma in various forms including but not limited to: domestic violence, sexual violence, homelessness, unemployment, financial hardship, etc. As a result, staff are at risk of secondary trauma.
