We are looking for an experienced government affairs professional in Australia to support engagement on digital safety and content regulation topics across the Asia Pacific region, on a fixed term basis. We have an immediate opening for a Regional Digital Safety Lead for the Asia-Pacific region: this is a unique opportunity to engage on cutting edge digital safety topics in the era of AI.
The Digital Safety Lead will work with a global software company's government affairs teams across the region to issue spot and support engagement on digital safety regulatory and public policy initiatives. The role will provide subject-matter expertise and guidance to local teams and advance digital safety thought leadership, as well as supporting and leading engagements with key government, civil society, and tech industry stakeholders. The role is also a unique opportunity to drive proactive efforts to support user safety in the region. The role reports into the company's centralized Digital Safety Unit and will also support multidisciplinary work across the unit from a field perspective.
As a Digital Safety Lead for AG Consulting Partners, a typical day might include the following:
- Trusted advisor to the global software company's government affairs teams across the region, partnering to support regulatory and public policy engagement, including local engagements on safety.
- Monitoring digital safety regulatory and public policy developments, issue spotting, and providing internal insights on trends and developments.
- Leading engagement with external stakeholders (government, civil society, and other industry) to represent the company's perspective, as well as to garner insights on trends and risks, and sharing readouts with internal stakeholders.
- Partner with a variety of subject-matter experts (SMEs) in the Digital Safety Unit to support a range of activities, including input to regulatory governance processes, transparency reporting and regulator engagement.
- Leading the company's engagement in relevant regional initiatives.
- Advancing thought leadership and proactive campaigns, including resource development and localization.

Requirements
You have:
- Bachelor of Laws OR equivalent experience.
- Expertise in digital safety topics, including child online safety, tech regulation, and partnership engagement.
- 5+ years experience in government relations or advocacy roles.
- Local to Australia.
You might also have:
- Experience working with technology and gaming companies is a plus.
- Interpersonal and collaboration skills, and diverse cultural experience.
- The desire and ability to work as part of a diverse and inclusive team, and to foster diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
- A willingness and aptitude for learning.

The compensation for this position is tailored to reflect your unique skill set, relevant experience, and the current dynamics of the job market. We strive to ensure that our compensation package is competitive and fair, taking into account various factors to provide a rewarding opportunity for our team members.
The annual salary range for this role is: 100,000 - 120,000 USD
