Job Summary
We are looking for an Engineering Programme Manager to work with our development teams to plan and manage the delivery of cross-functional projects and products. As Engineering Programme Manager, you will be interacting with highly skilled technical teams and will be involved in the detail therefore a strong technical background is a requirement. You may have been working as a Technical Project Manager, Engineering Manager, Team Lead or Senior Developer in one or more of the disciplines required for advanced electronic hardware and software development.
This role will have a hardware and systems bias.
The Team
The Engineering team at Graphcore is responsible for developing ground-breaking AI technology involving custom ASIC design, advanced hardware platforms and complex software. This role will be to pull these strands together to deliver coherent solutions to time and specification. You will be working directly with the engineering team leads and alongside product owners and focused delivery managers.
Responsibilities and Duties
- In this highly transparent role as a Hardware Technical Program Manager, your role will be crucial in ensuring we qualify sophisticated silicon and products on schedule.
- You will closely work with various Business Unit leaders and partners to align on HW delivery plans, ensuring expectations on the HW teams are understood and delivery of HW designs to operations are documented and clearly understood.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives within the HW delivery stream, ensuring the right level of quality is achieved.
- Multi-functional team partnership with all areas of the business including Architecture, Design, Software, Operations, and product teams.
- Drive schedule, achievement alignment, equipment needs, and materials logistics for silicon/Systems bring-up activities.
- Manage and track Boards/Systems demand and supply for internal programs, working with the operations teams to ensure the right engineering solutions are delivered on time, to the right quality.
- Track all HW program management metrics and drive continuous improvement to HW processes.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of proven ability in program management, specifically with hardware.
- An ability to work independently without daily oversight.
- Great exposure to all facets of system design, from concept to productization, including SW alignment.
- Diligent and able to multitask in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and changing requirements.
- Ability to think strategically and tactically and to build consensus to make programs successful.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You must have an established background in delivering products, strong technical skills, a data-driven mentality, excellent project management skills, great interpersonal skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Prior experience with silicon bring-up, silicon/system validation, and productization.
- Understanding of AI System-level platforms and how each component interacts with the system.
- A detailed understanding of datacentre and/or consumer electronics design, including critical interfaces.
