You’ll be the guardian of our cloud, the automator of processes, and the one who keeps our platform humming smoothly. This role is perfect for someone who loves a good challenge, enjoys collaborating with smart people, and can keep their cool even when a CI/CD pipeline decides to throw a tantrum. Responsibilities


  • Manage and provision AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and optimized.
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
  • Implement and maintain security tools to ensure compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, addressing root causes efficiently.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical support and solve integration challenges.
  • Document processes and solutions to create consistent, reusable resources for the team.
  • Support government projects by ensuring platform compliance and implementing security hardening measures.
  • Identify and address technical debt, proactively improving infrastructure and processes.
  • Serve as a resource for teams across the organization, providing expertise on cloud infrastructure.

Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, networking, system administration, or similar functions
  • Experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred but GCP or Azure also accepted)
  • Experience with IaC (Terraform preferred but Chef, Ansible, Puppet or similar tools also accepted) 
  • Proficiency in scripting (Shell or Bash but Python preferred) 
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools, including GitHub Actions or similar.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Datadog or Grafana.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset.

Bonus


  • Solid understanding of networking and security principles in cloud environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Experience with Postgres or other database management systems.
  • Knowledge of microservice infrastructure and deployments.
  • Familiarity with highly regulated industries, such as healthcare or government compliance.

$102,000 - $136,000 a yearThe compensation for this role will be based on level of experience and the geographic tier in which you are located. This position also comes with equity and a variety of benefits.Tier 1 Salary: $114,000 - $136,000Non-Tier 1 Salary: $102,000 - $122,000

LOCATION


Artera values in-person collaboration and is currently hiring in the following US cities: Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, Kansas City, Seattle, Denver, Chicago, Boston, and Philadelphia (Wayne).Artera HQ is in Santa Barbara, CA, with an additional US office located in Philadelphia (Wayne), PA. If you live in the Santa Barbara or Philadelphia area, your role will be hybrid, and you will be expected to work out of your designated office location regularly, following local office guidelines.

While three days a week may be a general guideline, the specific requirement will be set regionally based on the needs of the local office and the role.If you live in one of our other hubs, your role will be remote to start. As our team continues to grow in these cities, Artera will explore opening offices in these locations, but there is currently no timeline in place for that. Once that happens, in-office attendance will similarly follow regional expectations, with flexibility to align with the local office's norms and the specific job requirements.
