cFocus Software is seeking an experienced and highly skilled
Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our team and play a critical role in supporting national security operations through advanced data analysis and business intelligence solutions. With a deep understanding of business intelligence tools, data integration, and systems analysis, the Senior BI Analyst will plan, direct, and coordinate activities in electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming to enhance DHS’s data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Advanced Business Intelligence Development:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex BI systems that aggregate, analyze, and visualize data to provide strategic insights to DHS leadership.
  • Oversee the creation and management of BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations for high-impact decision-making processes.
  • Conduct deep data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support the Department’s mission to safeguard national security.
  • Leadership in Data Integration and Analytics:
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities related to data collection, integration, and transformation from multiple sources across various systems within DHS.
  • Lead the integration of complex datasets, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for analytics purposes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define BI requirements and ensure solutions align with operational needs and objectives.
  • System Analysis, Design, and Implementation:
  • Provide leadership in systems analysis and design, recommending improvements or new systems to optimize the department’s data processing and analysis capabilities.
  • Manage the development, testing, and implementation of new data management and analytics platforms.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT and data engineering, to ensure BI systems are seamlessly integrated with existing platforms.
  • Project Management and Coordination:
  • Plan, manage, and execute multiple BI projects, ensuring alignment with DHS priorities and the timely delivery of solutions.
  • Direct activities in fields such as electronic data processing, information systems, and computer programming to ensure the continuous optimization of BI systems and processes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of BI initiatives, managing resources, timelines, and deliverables effectively.
  • Data Security, Compliance, and Governance:
  • Ensure BI systems and data analytics processes comply with federal regulations and DHS security protocols, maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with compliance and security teams to implement best practices for data governance and ensure adherence to relevant laws and standards.
  • Mentorship and Training:
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior BI analysts and other staff, sharing best practices and fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth.
  • Lead training sessions on BI tools, techniques, and methodologies to improve team capabilities and effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Stakeholder Communication:
  • Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership within DHS.
  • Develop and present strategic reports that outline BI insights, recommendations, and areas of improvement for business operations.

Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data analysis, systems analysis, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior-level role.
  • Proven expertise in BI tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar).
  • Extensive experience with data integration, ETL processes, and managing large datasets.
  • Strong background in systems analysis, software development, and implementing BI solutions across large organizations, ideally within a government or security-focused environment.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights for decision-makers.
  • In-depth understanding of data modeling, systems analysis, and software development processes.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to a broad audience, including senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile certification
  • Security-related certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
