We are looking for an energetic and ambitious Shipping & Receiving Clerk to process any incoming shipments to the warehouse, keep the receiving area clear, compare what was received to the invoices the company has and put the stock in its proper place within the warehouse. Responsible for scheduling and delivering customer orders and regularly uses computer and is proficient in using computer programs required (Profit 21, Microsoft Office, UPS and Fed Ex freight software). Must have organizational and multitasking skills and works under minimal supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in counting inventory for cycle counts and maintain stock (i.e., tag, stack, sort, keep organized). Clean equipment and all shop areas
- Participate in lean activity and safety regulations
- Regularly make suggestions for improvement and work on continuous improvement projects for lean, quality and safety
- Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming goods to verify receipt of items against shipping notice
- Records and checks quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders and specifications
- May inspect, accept, or reject goods received
- Input stock items into computer and store in the assigned location in or around the warehouse
- Physically counts inventory items to verify accuracy on a regular basis
- Operates a motor vehicle for scheduled deliveries
- Ship, pack, receive items and build crates
- Process certifications for customers
- Operate forklift upon certification
- Use computer regularly
- Any other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- High school or equivalent (GED) required
- 2 year industrial shop experience preferred, with shipping and receiving experience preferred
- Intermediate computer skills required. Must be familiar with MS Office products. Prefer knowledge of P21 (internal GHX system)
- Must be able to use a tape measure and understand basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
