cFocus Software is seeking an experienced
Cloud Analyst to join our team in supporting critical cloud computing and infrastructure operations. This role is responsible for providing expert analysis, design, integration, and operational support for DHS’s cloud-based applications and services. The Cloud Analyst will provide high-level functional systems analysis, advice on specialized applications, and guide the design, implementation, and integration of cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience and extensive knowledge of cloud technologies and the ability to navigate complex problems and provide effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Systems Analysis and Design:
- Provide expert analysis of cloud-based applications, systems, and operational environments to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability.
- Conduct high-level functional systems analysis and design for cloud infrastructure, including migration planning, cloud architecture, and multi-cloud environments.
- Advise on the integration of cloud services with existing systems and applications to ensure seamless operations and data flow.
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions, ensuring they meet DHS security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Cloud Architecture and Implementation:
- Oversee the deployment and configuration of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to meet organizational and mission needs.
- Collaborate with technical teams to architect cloud-based solutions for data storage, analytics, and computing requirements, ensuring they align with best practices and standards.
- Advise on the implementation of cloud infrastructure projects and the transition of existing systems to the cloud, including risk management and disaster recovery strategies.
- Operational Support and Optimization:
- Provide ongoing support for cloud operations, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting issues across cloud platforms.
- Recommend improvements to cloud infrastructure and applications to optimize performance, cost, and scalability.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and trends, providing guidance on their potential implementation within DHS.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- Create comprehensive documentation of cloud architectures, designs, configurations, and workflows for internal teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure that all cloud systems and applications are properly documented, including user guides, system operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
- Train and mentor junior staff on cloud technologies and best practices.
- Integration and Functional Guidance:
- Provide expert advice on the integration of specialized cloud applications with existing operational systems, ensuring that complex issues are resolved in line with DHS objectives.
- Analyze, design, and implement cloud-based solutions for specialized operational needs, coordinating across technical teams to ensure successful implementation.
- Guide cross-functional teams in the development and execution of cloud strategies, including security, compliance, and cost management.
- Project Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead the planning and execution of cloud-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget while meeting all functional and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with DHS leadership, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure the successful design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud solutions.
- Provide expertise in cloud governance, compliance, and security frameworks, ensuring that DHS cloud infrastructure adheres to relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cloud Computing, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in cloud computing, systems analysis, and cloud architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or similar.
- Extensive experience in the design, implementation, integration, and management of cloud-based systems and applications.
- Proven ability to address complex technical issues related to cloud environments, systems integration, and operational needs.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture, multi-cloud environments, and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) models.
- Extensive experience with cloud security, compliance frameworks, and risk management practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills, especially in cloud environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex cloud concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation and knowledge management skills.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or similar cloud certifications (Azure, Google Cloud).
- ITIL Foundation or other relevant IT service management certifications.
- Cloud Security certifications (e.g., CCSK, CCSP).
Security Clearance:
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must possess or be able to obtain the required security clearance.
