Position Description:
Arcturus Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated individual to help develop the next generation of mRNA-based vaccines in the role of Research Associate. This position will support molecular biology-based workflows to evaluate the mRNA vaccine platforms including, but not limited to, cloning, PCR, nucleic acid isolation, tissue culture, transfection of nucleic acids, gel electrophoresis, and Western blotting. Experience with ELISAs, flow cytometry, and ELISpot is preferred but not necessary. A successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot and execute bioanalytical assays.
The applicant should also be open to learning and mastering new techniques. The applicant is expected to manage multiple projects/experiments and communicate results effectively to team members. This position will directly report to the Vaccines and Immunology team in the Translational Biology Department and will collaborate with other functional groups within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Support multiple development programs within the company.
- Develop, troubleshoot, and execute various in vitro assays described above.
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate results effectively to team members.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Candidate Qualifications
- BS or MS in cellular and molecular biology, virology, microbiology, or immunology.
- Strong commitment to scientific integrity/ethics and enthusiasm for discovery are required.
- Requires 1-3 years of experience in basic laboratory techniques including cell culture.
- Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
- Experience with cloning is preferred.
- Experience with in vitro transfection systems for cell lines is a plus.
- Experience with Western blot, ELISA, JESS, and/or MSD is a plus.
- Experience with animal tissue processing is a plus.
- Experience in data analysis with Excel and PRISM is a plus.
- Virological and/or microbiological techniques is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proven ability to manage multiple experiments.
Anticipated salary range for candidates that will work in San Diego is $67,000 - $88,600 for RA I and $77,400 - $102,400 for RA II
