Senior Corporate Counsel

We partner with health systems, community health centers, plans, and employers to remove barriers to care to ensure all people have access to the care they deserve. We are looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to lead our internal legal function and operate as the primary liaison to all external legal counsel.
Serving as a strategic advisor to the AndHealth leadership team, this position will report to the SVP, Finance & Controller. While this role will not initially have supervisory responsibilities, they will be expected to operate as a leader with a strong ability to influence internally and externally at all levels.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Serve as a key thought leader in managing the company’s risk posture related to its business model and partnership structures; ensuring alignment with organization goals.
- Support innovation and growth objectives to achieve our mission, while ensuring full compliance with law and navigating complex grey areas with exceptional judgment and unwavering ethics.
- Accelerate routine legal matters internally, such as vendor contracts, CHC partnerships, and other agreements, by developing and implementing templates and scalable processes that maintain high compliance and quality standards.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel. Ensure all legal matters are efficiently packaged, clearly communicated, and effectively coordinated to receive timely, thorough, and optimal guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address diverse legal needs, including new sales strategies and product launches, contract negotiations, strategic partnerships, regulatory compliance, and service agreements.
- Communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible manner and provide practical, solutions-focused risk mitigation strategies to support business objectives.
- Act as a resource for non-legal staff by providing training and guidance to increase their awareness and understanding of legal risks. Foster a proactive and informed risk posture across the organization, enabling teams to make sound decisions within a compliant framework.
- Monitor changes and stay up to date on developments in healthcare laws, regulations, and guidelines to ensure the organization remains compliant and well-informed.
- Identify unmet needs and future legal challenges and proactively propose strategies that support positive outcomes for patients, partners, and the company while effectively managing risk.
Education & Licensure Requirements:
- Licensure/Certification: Active member in good standing with the Ohio State Bar Association.
- Education: Juris Doctor/Doctor of Law/Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) degree from an accredited law school required; Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies, Healthcare or related field preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant professional legal experience as an attorney, with a focus on Healthcare.

- Experience at a top law firm, or a combination of firm and in-house roles.
- Ability to be viewed as partner and collaborator to achieve “both sides won" in negotiations with external parties Willing to work full-time in our Columbus office.
- Significant experience with either Community Health Centers or Health Systems/hospitals.
Required Expertise:
- Strong understanding of most mainstream compliance issues
- Nuanced and sophisticated understanding of AKS/ Stark law
- Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, including PSA/provider contracting
Desired Expertise:
- Experience with Pharmacy law and Ohio Pharmacy Board.
- Familiarity with Federal Drug Discount programs.
- Experience with Employment law.
