About Merlin:

Backed by some of the world’s leading investors, Merlin is scaling alongside our customers to begin leveraging autonomy today to solve some of aviation’s biggest challenges.About you: You are an experienced professional with a systems level approach to security. Ideally you have an extensive background in aerospace and defense, and are well-versed with NIST security documentation including NIST 800-171 and NIST 800-53.
You take full ownership of deliverables, and will work across all departments to identify gaps and vulnerabilities in order to implement appropriate and effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key stakeholder and work with systems engineers across programs to ensure cybersecurity deliverables are met.
- Drive enterprise cybersecurity control maturity to protect business proprietary information and enable CMMC.
- Automate and standardize controls and processes to reduce overhead on IT and development departments.
- Prepare Merlin for classified processing by establishing information systems and applicable controls.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years experience with securing information systems from development to enterprise.
- Have referenced NIST 800-171 and more importantly NIST 800-53 to secure defense information systems.
- Strong foundation in computer science and software engineering fundamentals, including Python, Bash, and Powershell.
- Deep understanding of network security including firewalls, VPNs, ports, and protocols.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience implementing CMMC in controlled information systems.
- Experience contributing to system architecture design and development
