The Sr HR Generalist role provides comprehensive HR support, ensuring efficient and compliant administration of employee benefits, payroll, HR systems, and HR processes. This includes maintaining data integrity, fostering a positive employee experience, and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the organization through effective HR practices and reporting.
What things you will do as a Nerd?
Benefits:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
- Conduct open enrollment and new hire benefit orientations.
- Reconcile benefit billing and manage the relationship with our 3rd party COBRA administrator.
- Manage leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, and other state and federal leave laws.
- Administer workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Manage employee recognition programs.
Payroll:
- Oversee payroll processing performed by the finance department, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage payroll taxes and deductions, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Manage new state setups and tax configurations, as well as any state tax case adjustments.
- Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Create quarterly variance and year-end reports.
- Maintain meticulous payroll records to ensure compliance.
HRIS Systems:
- Administer and maintain our HRIS system (UKG preferred) ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Generate reports from the HRIS, providing valuable insights to the HR team and management.
Onboarding & Offboarding:
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a positive experience.
- Conduct new hire orientation and coordinate with hiring managers and departments for successful onboarding.
- Manage the offboarding process for terminations, ensuring compliance and a smooth transition.
Other HR Duties:
- Assist with the merit and bonus cycle, mid-year and annual performance reviews, engagement surveys, and job changes related to promotions, transfers, or reorganizations.
- Contribute to compensation survey administration, job description management, AAP data and reporting, and EEOC reporting.
- Maintain our internal HR information portal, ensuring it is up-to-date and user-friendly.
- Support various HR projects and initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes.
What Skills Will Help You Be A Successful Nerd?
- High school diplomas or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of proven experience in a generalist HR role, demonstrating proficiency in various HR functions.
- Previous experience as the sole HR associate in an organization is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legal compliance (federal and state).
- Solid experience with HRIS systems, with UKG experience preferred.
- Prior experience in payroll and benefits administration. Familiarity with state tax law management required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience with OpenAir, Concur, and Confluence is a plus.
- Unwavering discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong self-management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience assisting in the delivery of HR programs and processes, including workforce planning, performance reviews, and talent development.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
Note:
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary for this position. Actual pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and location.
