This role offers a chance to create meaningful impact in a supportive, collaborative environment with well-prepared systems in place.
Position Overview:
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am-3:00 pm
- Start Date: ASAP – May 30th, 2025
- Grade Levels: Pre-K through 2nd-grade students in one building
- Caseload: Serving two classrooms with no more than 26 students in total
- Work Environment:
- Shared space (cubicle-style setup) for collaboration
- Push-in model with some self-contained services
- All paperwork and re-evaluations are currently up to date
Your Role as an Occupational Therapist:
This role is centered on empowering young learners by enhancing their ability to thrive in the school setting. You’ll provide targeted interventions to help students develop the functional skills needed for academic success, focusing on a seamless transition into their developmental and educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services in a push-in model, working directly within classroom settings to provide support and strategies for students.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate occupational therapy interventions into daily routines.
- Support self-contained classrooms as needed to address unique student needs.
- Conduct individualized assessments and interventions to promote growth in functional and academic skills.
- Develop and maintain accurate student profiles and records, ensuring all documentation meets district, state, and federal standards.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to recommend adaptive equipment or tools that enhance student independence and accessibility.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapy License
- Experience working in a school-based setting is preferred
- Strong collaborative skills and passion for working with early childhood and primary-grade students
