The Position


CallRail is seeking a Backend (Server-Side) Engineer to join our Team. Working on the CallRail platform provides an exciting opportunity to interact with several technologies and domains, from telephony, AI, web application development, data storage, and third party integration vendors.

What You'll Do


  • Build and Maintain Our Platform. It’s what we do best! You’ll be part of a core team that owns a domain within our platform and you’ll be part of the team that helps build and grow it over time. 
  • Be a valuable part of the team. You will bring your core development skills and your experience in the server side domain building or scaling an engineering product. You will help to evaluate, prioritize, and drive system level design changes to our product 
  • Communicate well. You'll explain your work clearly to team members, and seek feedback to build a codebase we all enjoy contributing to. 
  • Be a good teammate. You'll be helpful, open-minded, respectful, and collaborative. You’ll be working in a team, not in isolation. As an experienced developer, you will serve as a leader, mentor, and good teammate to our talented team of engineers
  • Learn. Regardless of your level of experience or seniority, you'll work to improve your skills and learn more about our customers and their needs.

What You'll Need


  • Required experience:
  • Building web applications with Ruby on Rails
  • Designing and building new features or services
  • Strong understanding of testing best practices and a commitment to code quality
  • Helping make technical design decisions as part of a team
  • Technologies and Tools we use:
  • Ruby, Rails, Sidekiq, and Rspec
  • Angular, Javascript, Typescript
  • Postgres, Redis, and Elasticsearch
  • Twilio and other telephony providers
