RubyLaw(part of Banyan Software Inc.) is a Content Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform company providing legal marketers and business developers with tools to collaborate, manage, distribute, and share business content.As an SDET for JavaScript-based and NodeJS-based applications, you will be responsible for maintaining, designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the highest quality of our software products. You will work closely with developers, product owners, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, create test strategies, and deliver high-quality, robust applications.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Application familiarity: manually test our application using the same standards as the QA team to familiarize yourself with both our application and our testing process.
  • Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for JavaScript-based and NodeJS-based applications using tools such as Tape, Jest, Mocha, Jasmin, Cypress, Puppeteer, and Playwright.
  • Test Strategy: Collaborate with development and QA teams to create comprehensive test plans and strategies that cover functional, regression, performance, and security Testing.
  • Code Maintenance: maintain existing test code.
  • Code Review and Improvement: Conduct code reviews to ensure that test code and Automation scripts follow best practices and improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Defect Identification: Identify, document, and track defects and issues found during testing, and working with development teams to resolve them.
  • Performance Testing: Perform performance and load testing to ensure applications meet performance benchmarks and handle expected traffic loads.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for test cases, test results, and automated test scripts.

Required Skills:


  • Experience: Proven experience as an SDET or in a similar role, with a strong focus on JavaScript-based and NodeJS-based applications.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in NodeJS and experience with JavaScript
  • Test Automation: Experience with the following test automation tools and frameworks Tape and Cypress
  • Performance Testing: Knowledge of performance testing tools and techniques (e.g., Grafana K6) is a plus.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6 - 10 years of experience as a Test / Developer or equivalent role, in APIs, especially REST calls.
  • Expertise in JavaScript and Node.js
  • Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Conversational English required

Bonus Points:


  • Experience with API testing and documentation tools.
  • Working Hours, location: To ensure coverage with North American teams, working hours will be 2 PM to 11 PM IST
  • Working from Chennai office (in Guindy), in a hybrid model
