Position Summary:
The Devops / Engineers primary focus is on internal tooling and automation of infrastructure. Their primary day to day might be building and maintaining an internal application for employees to do their job better and faster, or automating build and deployment pipelines and strategies for each environment. In addition to these things, they will be responsible for maintaining any updates, etc that might be needed for AWS services and infrastructure.
Areas of Responsibility:
- 50% - Updating and Maintaining our AWS infrastructure.
- 50% - Providing Secure Auditable automation with our CI/CD processes.
Specific Position Tasks:
- Maintain and Automate Build Pipelines and Infrastructure
- Works in each Engineering team to develop internal tools and software to speed up all facets of the company process.
- Adjust AWS infrastructure as needed to provide optimal security, performance, redundancy, and alerting.
- Maintains existing Firewall and Intrusion detections systems.
- Defining and developing continuous integration and deployment pipelines
- Building Infrastructure as Code
- Coordinating build and release activities with other stakeholders
- Training and mentoring other DevOps engineers
- Defining and developing automated quality and release gates
- Working with teams to develop code quality metrics and meters
- Coaching and training engineering teams on DevOps toolsets
- Identifying, researching, and prototyping new technologies to improve DevOps processes
- Collaborating with various teams and disciplines to promote and develop DevOps best practices
- Managing day to day operations of release pipelines, build tools, and source control software and resources
- Performing ongoing maintenance and upgrades of DevOps systems (Production & non-production)
- Troubleshooting & responding to downtime, performance degradation and outside attacks
- Occasional weekend or after-hours work as needed

Core Competencies:
- 5+ years of working with AWS technologies
- 5+ years of Windows and Linux based servers
- 5+ years of scripting languages ( perl, python, bash, powershell, etc )
- 3+ years of enterprise networking and security
- 2+ years of Chef, Ansible, Cloudformation, Terraform, Serverless or similar
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Requirements
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelors of Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of working with AWS technologies (required)
- 5+ years of Windows and Linux based servers (required)
- 5+ years of scripting languages ( perl, python, bash, powershell, etc )
- 3+ years of enterprise networking and security
Preferred Education & Experience
- 2+ years of Chef, Ansible, Cloudformation, Terraform, Serverless or similar a plus
