Summary:
Nursing services include the evaluation of consumers’ medical nursing needs. The coordination of medical services with consumers, the provision of emergency intervention and consultation with consumers and families regarding client’s health care needs. Coordinates health needs related to mental health with issues and physical health issues.
Responsibilities:
- Provides educational and instructional information regarding consumer’s health status and prescribed medications regime coordinates health services for consumers and participates in Personal Care Plan.
- Oversees documentation of prescribed medications ensuring accuracy
- Ensures that differential effects of medication on its respected targeted symptoms are addressed in medication reviews.
- Provides consumers, and/or providers with purpose and potential side effects of prescribed medication.
- Completes comprehensive nursing assessments/treatments as assigned in compliance with NSO policy. Prepares clear nursing/health care plans and goals.
- Assesses clients for medical waivers and other ancillary services, and coordinates with the submission of the requests as needed
- Provides direct clinical services to patients within standard of good nursing practices and within unit standards
- Seeks supervisor consultation when appropriate action is unclear or beyond routine nursing functions
- Is knowable about patient rights and serves as an advocate as needed
- Completes various administrative forms to assure accurate data collections
- Reviews charts regularly to ensure paperwork compliance
- Nursing Services and Monitoring; Nursing assessments, developing of health care plans/services and interventions within the least restrictive setting and towards maximizing capacities for independent functioning Documents include complete, accurate and timely completion of clinical and statistical records.

Candidate Requirements:
- Graduation from Registered Nursing Program
- Valid State of Michigan RN license
- 2 years nursing experience
Working Conditions:
- This position may be required to travel between both Detroit and Westland Integrated Clinic locations.
- Will have consistent physical contact with patients.
- Works in a medical clinical setting; uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed, to perform duties.
- The noise level in the work environment is variable, due to frequent contact with consumers.
- Bends, stoops and reaches in order to gather equipment, files, or to search for and retrieve records and documents.
- Manual dexterity and regular fine-finger and hand/wrist motions are required for performing medical procedures in addition to operating a keyboard, writing and filing.
- Seeing/vision, talking/speaking and listening/hearing are continuously required.
- Frequently required to stand during working hours
- Required to sit, walk or drive as needed
