Who You Are
The asset acquisition team finds and evaluates therapeutic ideas for GondolaBio to pursue. The team works closely with members of GondolaBio’s Investment Committee, which is composed of veteran drug developers and renowned academic scientists. As a key member of the team, this position will help set the culture and business development of the company and will be the face of the organization. In particular, the duties of the Associate/Senior Associate will be to research, evaluate, and advocate for both particular investment opportunities and broader therapeutic areas for GondolaBio to consider.
Responsibilities
- Deeply evaluate all aspects of a therapeutic program—from genetic rationale and pre-clinical evidence all the way to the development plan and clinical trial design
- Advocate for those that fit our goal of targeting the genetic source of a disease by building a scientific and business case for each potential investment
- Interface with leading academics, patient advocacy groups, biotechs, and entrepreneurs
- Lead internal discussions with management and the Investment Committee
- Establish a focused investment strategy and follow through to identify new investment opportunities
- Coordinate and work with a talented team of internal subject-matter experts—including clinical, commercial, and disease experts—to dive as deeply as needed for each project

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements
- A strong aptitude for and interest in science
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to express ideas concisely and cogently in writing and with PowerPoint
- An advanced technical degree; MD or Ph.D. is preferred
- Previous experience working at one of the following:
- Top tier consulting firm in the life sciences
- Venture capital
- Business development role in a biotech or life science startup
- Post-docs with some experience or strong interest in the business of biotech
- Experience in and confidence with working across a wide range of therapeutic areas
- Broad knowledge of biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the precision medicine area
- Curious, has a strong work ethic, and values teamwork
- A self-starter who loves to learn and will bring great energy to work each day
- A passion for helping patients

At GondolaBio, we strive to provide a market-competitive total rewards package, including base pay, an annual performance bonus, company equity, and generous health benefits. Below is the anticipated salary range for candidates for this role who will work in California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, educational background, location of residence and performance during the interview process.
