Cleared On Site IT Subject Matter Expert (SME) IT Infrastructure (4021)

Are you an experienced IT professional with a deep understanding of complex systems and infrastructure? We are seeking an IT Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide critical support and technical leadership for advanced IT solutions within a Federal Law Enforcement Agency Laboratory Division. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise to ensure operational excellence and innovation in support of national security. This role is on site in Quantico, VA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide expert-level support and technical solutions for IT infrastructure systems, ensuring alignment with Federal Law Enforcement Agency objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee advanced configurations of IT systems, including virtualization platforms, storage networks, and cloud integration.
  • Conduct system performance evaluations, troubleshoot critical issues, and recommend technical optimizations.
  • Manage and maintain various infrastructure systems and applications such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Hyper-V, Citrix, WSUS, BigFix, NetApp, Dell Unity, and Dell Avamar.
  • Collaborate with government personnel, engineers, and project managers to develop and execute IT strategies and solutions.
  • Monitor cybersecurity protocols, ensuring compliance with the Federal Law Enforcement Agency and NIST cybersecurity standards.
  • Provide documentation, technical reports, and support training efforts for IT personnel.
  • Lead technical initiatives for infrastructure enhancements, migrations, and deployments.

Required Skills / Experience: 


  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT infrastructure, system engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in specific technology products and solutions related to enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in managing systems and applications such as:
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
  • Hyper-V, Citrix
  • WSUS, BigFix
  • NetApp, Dell Unity, Dell Avamar
  • Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and document complex IT systems and workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and technical leadership capabilities.

Desired Skills/Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
  • AWS SysOps Administrator
  • AWS Solutions Architect
  • Azure Solutions Architect
  • CISSP, CISM, or CASP+.
  • Experience with scientific or forensic applications is preferred.
