Position Summary:


Mohawk Global is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Duty Drawback Manager to lead a small team of 2-6 individuals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of duty drawback processes, ensuring efficient service delivery, and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction. In addition to managing a small client portfolio, this role will also support the sales team to drive the growth of the duty drawback service offering.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Team Management:
  • Lead and supervise a team of 2-6 employees, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the team meets operational goals and delivers exceptional service
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance skills and performance
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a small set of clients, ensuring satisfaction and providing proactive communication regarding their duty drawback needs
  • Collaborate with clients to resolve any issues, answer inquiries, and maintain long-term partnerships
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee the timely and accurate filing of duty drawback claims, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies
  • Manage the operational aspects of the drawback process, including documentation preparation, submission, and follow-up
  • Ensure team members adhere to established workflows, policies, and timelines to meet client needs
  • Sales Support:
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support the promotion and sales of duty drawback services to potential and existing clients
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and help develop proposals, presentations, and sales collateral
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Ensure proper documentation and records of all duty drawback activities, maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files
  • Provide regular reports on team performance, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency to senior management
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance client satisfaction
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve the service offering

Requirements:


Experience:


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in duty drawback
  • Minimum 3 years in a management or supervisory role
  • 8 years experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (Preferably a licensed broker)

  • Skills:


  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing small teams and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • High level of attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to client issues
  • Ability to support and contribute to sales efforts and business development activities

  • Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field preferred, but not required

  • Technical Skills:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with relevant customs software and systems
  • Expert knowledge of the CBP Duty Drawback regulations
