The Fleet Manager will oversee all vehicles, drivers, and related assets, including their operations, conditions, external and internal policy compliance, and overall performance. They will ensure that vehicles and drivers are being utilized to their fullest potential in a safe and cost-effective manner. The Fleet Manager will coordinate necessary repairs to our vehicles as well as preventative maintenance. A key part of this role is to ensure that Wyyerd and our drivers are compliant with regulatory agencies, including DOT.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and maintaining up to date driving records and reports for proper licensure
- Scheduling regular maintenance on all vehicles
- Ordering urgent or emergency repairs as needed
- Develop, manage and implement Wyyerd’s vehicle tracking and driver safety reports
- Set up, maintain, and issue all fuel cards and fueling and maintenance reports
- Managing vehicle licensure and registration
- Ensuring all DOT drivers have proper licensure and up to date training
- Monitoring drivers to ensure adherence to proper driving practices
- Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance and fleet progress
- Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency
- Provide support across the organization and multiple teams regarding all equipment related issues
- Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met and is following all regulatory agencies
- Execute preventative maintenance and on-going system troubleshooting
- Vehicle performance monitoring, record keeping, and improvement
- Coordinate purchasing/leasing/renting vehicles to expand Wyyerd’s fleet in all markets
- Other related duties and projects as assigned
Experience/Qualifications
- 2-5 years of fleet or related experience
- Prior construction experience preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA and DOT (UCR) regulations
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license
