BI Data Analyst I, Philippines

Reporting to the Manager, BI Development, the BI Data Analyst I is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, client facing reporting, and exploring customer data for new insights and trends.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities


  • Taking ownership and responsibility of the tasks assigned to you and completing them free of any errors. Setting expectations on task completion.
  • Independently work on tasks, applying your own judgement where necessary to produce high-quality, client-ready deliverables.
  • Enable reporting/analysis by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into insightful and actionable format.
  • Leverage Power BI, Python, and Excel to design, develop, and maintain repeatable metrics, reports, and dashboards for Cofense customers.
  • Collaborate with departmental teams to consult, develop, and implement dashboard reporting.
  • High attention to detail is key with ability to synthesize information from multiple sources. Must feel comfortable in being able to cross check your work. You should have an eye for being able to spot errors.
  • Support graphical reporting enhancements to better communicate the value of the Cofense solution.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality reporting solutions in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required


  • Motivated to learn new technologies and methodologies related to Business Intelligence, Cybersecurity intelligence reporting and Security Products.
  • Has good sense of accountability: sound personal judgment, capacity to handle confidential information appropriately, and can effectively escalate issues.
  • Good communication (verbal and written) to translate ambiguous business requirements into meaningful analyses and actionable insights.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Graphic-design oriented.
  • Strong data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with internal business users.

Education and/or Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in quantitative fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Data Sciences or equivalent experience in related field.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related position.
  • 1+ years in Python and/or SQL programming and manipulating data sets in a database.
  • 1+ years intermediate to advance proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Experience in one of the Analytical tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), preferably Power BI.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets across disparate database platforms
