The Role:
The Tax Compliance Manager will be responsible for the tax books and records and manage the information flow for production of tax returns, K-1’s and other tax reporting by the firm’s 3rd party accounting firms, including the reconciliation and review of such reporting. This individual will also be the resource to ascertain answers to tax questions and manage the tax books related to transactions and investments made by section 1031 investors.
- Enhance processes related to capturing accurate tax information.
- Review recording of financial information for accuracy and train related staff.
- Assist in hiring and building our accounting department.
- Document tax accounting procedures.
- Handle tax related inquiries from investors, and other AION personnel.
- Coordinate with external tax accountants to ensure tax reporting is completed in a timely manner.
- Interface with fund administrator, as necessary.
- Assist in the coordination of tax matters on property acquisition and disposition transactions.
- Assist with tax research.
- Perform debt covenant calculations. Assist with implementation of covenant calculations within our debt management system.
- Assist with new system implementations, as needed. Suggest ways to leverage technology.
- Ensure proper internal controls are in place to safeguard the company interests and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
- Interface with property accounting and other financial reporting personnel.
- Position reports to the head of accounting and finance.
- Good understanding and well versed with consolidation accounting process.
- Able to do GAAP Vs Tax accounting conversion and reconciliation.
- Perform capital gain calculation and well versed in withholding tax computation for different state regulations.

Requirements:
- A degree in Accounting is required.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- CPA is preferable.
