PotlatchDeltic is seeking an Information Technology Intern for summer 2025 at our lumber manufacturing facility in Bemidji, MN.  The purpose of an internship is to supplement your education by providing a broader understanding of your potential career path. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $20.00.Interns are matched with a mentor to assist in their training and development. The mentor will guide the intern as they develop an intimate understanding of the processes to complete a project that promotes cost savings, efficiencies, quality, and most importantly, safety.This internship is a great opportunity to work alongside professional staff and leaders in the field of IT within a fast-paced environment where you will get hands-on experience.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with and support the IT staff in software, hardware and all other technological tasks and issues.Internships are typically three-month, full-time assignments, beginning in May or June and continuing through August.Candidates should have interest in learning about or experience with one or more of the following:


  • PC Imaging - Build workstations and laptops as required using the automated processes.
  • Install personal computers, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • End User Support - Answer, evaluate, prioritize, and resolve incoming helpdesk tickets through ticketing system, telephone, voice mail, email, and in-person requests from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
  • Conduct end user training on capabilities as needed
  • Document related issues to maintain an IT knowledge base
  • Build relationships with the end users and your remote team members
  • Hands on IT work in an industrial environment
  • Software and firmware update to core systems, routers, and switches
  • Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP
  • Print servers
  • Test software and hardware to evaluate ease of use ensuring products will aid user in performing work.

Requirements:


  • Must be a student attending Bemidji State University or Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, Minnesota.

  • Must be enrolled in a program for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field at Bemidji State University or Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, MN.
  • Must have completed one year of college.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office products and basic computer usage.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Excellent planning, written and oral communication, organizational skills, professionalism, and self-motivation.
  • Must be responsible, dependable, and very safety conscious.
