Full-timeDescriptionThe role of the APU Test Cell Mechanic is to test and troubleshoot APU's and APU accessories.It requires working in various disciplines within the repair and overhaul shop .Essential functions include:
- Maintain test equipment
- Perform tests and troubleshooting of APU and APU accessories
- Assist in design and fabrication of new test equipment
- Prepare documentation, including findings and test data
- Operate test equipment as required by the OEM maintenance manuals and other work instructions
- Repairs test articles to meet test specifications and prepares failure reports
- Read and interpret electrical schematics
- Read, interpret and execute work instructions
- Follow all company policies including safety instructions
- With limited supervision tear down, inspect, clean and rebuild APU accessories and other similar equipment
- Clean parts and assemblies as required
- Prepare documentation, including findings and test data
- Light painting and touch up of assemblies as required
- Perform balance operations as required
- Make setups and adjustments, holding tolerances to blueprint and work instruction specifications.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Read, interpret and execute work instructions
- May prepare reports and suggest improvements and modifications from data collected
- Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems
- Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.
- May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
- Maintains FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms.
- Follow all company policies including safety instructions
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
· Minimum 3-5 years mechanical experience directly related to APU and/or associated accessories· Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings· Must be proficient in the use, care and calibration of testing equipment
