Job title: Facilities Manager


The Facilities Manager oversees the maintenance and repair planning of facilities, manages contracts and construction projects, and ensures safe environments at all locations. They collaborate with various personnel and vendors, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

In this role you will:


  • Supervise facilities specialist staff in maintenance and repair planning.
  • Manage facilities, contracts, equipment, and construction projects.
  • Oversee safe environments at all locations.
  • Monitor inventory delivery conducted by facilities specialists.
  • Evaluate playground safety.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance checks occur at all locations.
  • Monitor the status of construction and repair projects.
  • Collaborate with School District personnel, repair maintenance vendors, and construction contractors.
  • Utilize program resources to meet state regulations and Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Supervise Davis Bacon construction and fiscal documentation.
  • Provide quality assurance oversight for environmental health and safety activities.
  • Assure collaboration and integration of integrated services team for high-quality early childhood development.
  • Assist the director in planning, developing, and monitoring program services, policies, and procedures.
  • Work under general direction according to agency mission, philosophy, Core Values, and goals.

What it takes:


  • High School Diploma or GED, Experience in Construction, Facilities.
  • Management and/ or Certification in Construction Trades.
  • AA or BA in Construction Management.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Possess an insured & reliable vehicle and a valid AZ driver’s license.
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card – OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Functional knowledge of Daycare Licensing Requirements.
  • Knowledge of Department of Child Safety reporting mandates.

Position’s Physical Demand:


  • Ability to lift 35 - 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reach/work in ceilings without assistance.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and squat for appropriate amounts of time.
  • Ability to sit or kneel for periods on the floor.
  • Ability to get up and down from floor without assistance.
  • Ability to run after a child if necessary.
  • Ability to climb flights of stairs.
