Accountant (Part-time, Phoenix-based)

What you'll own & improve:

Accounts Payable and Receivable You’ll own all things AR and AP for Trainual, managing the daily flow of invoices, payments, and collections. From paying bills to running reports on failed payments to support our CX team with collections, you’ll ensure smooth operations and identify opportunities to further automate processes. Your oversight ensures every transaction is buttoned up and accounted for.
Stripe Management and Internal Support You’ll be our in-house Stripe expert, taking charge of all operational Stripe duties and becoming the primary point of contact for internal teams in the #Stripe-Questions channel. Whether it’s troubleshooting payments, answering billing questions, or guiding teammates through Stripe processes, you’ll keep Trainual running like a well-oiled machine.
Month-Close Accounting As the owner of key operational month-close duties, you’ll handle critical tasks like bank and credit card reconciliations to keep our books in order. You’ll streamline and execute these processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while collaborating with leaders to maintain top-notch financial operations.

What you already know:

Accounting Experience: You have experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Specialist, AP Clerk, or AR Clerk, and you understand the basic accounting cycle.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel is a must, and experience with tools like Xero, Stripe, or expense management software is a big plus (but not required—we’re happy to teach!).
Collaborative and Communicative: You’re great at helping teammates, communicating clearly and quickly, and thrive on keeping things organized.
Bonus Points for SaaS: While not essential, experience in a SaaS environment is a nice-to-have.

About the Team:

This role reports to our incredible Director of Finance & Accounting, Kelsey Curzon. Matt Dennett, our Senior Accountant, will be your trusty sidekick and you’ll collaborate with the broader sales, CX, and operations teams.
